Five decades ago, Himalayan English School started with just 10 students in the Kindergarten section. Today, it gives me immense pleasure and joy to see it flourish into a 10 + 2 school(ICSE + ISC).
As Educators, we truly believe what Ralph Waldo Emerson stated, “The secret of education lies in respecting the pupil.” Based on this statement, we work for the student’s happiness, treating them with unconditional trust and warm respect, encouraging and empowering them to realise their potential and display their unique individuality. Therefore, the vital bond between a teacher and a student is a significant one as the farmer helps in igniting the passion for developing the seeking spiral of each child.
Over the years of nurturing, fostering and instilling humanistic values in them, some have now become esteemed and distinguished gentlemen and ladies of our society – some turned out to be Doctors, some Army Officers, others Engineers and most Teachers themselves. Visits from them to their alma mater where they sat in these very classrooms years ago, gives us a sense of satisfaction that cannot be expressed in words and never will be.
Our fundamental aim is to nature our students to become dynamic leaders and good citizens of our nation. I fondly hope to always have the co-operation of our dedicated staff to continue to work with even greater effort and enthusiasm to make our school shine brighter and fly higher.
